With In Search Of the Hidden Self, I am hoping to offer the public, parents, teachers, and therapists, a new perspective on these psychological issues that are so prevalent in our modern world.

In this overview of the human developmental journey, I describe some survival adaptations we develop in life to remedy our insecure attachments (fears of rejection, loneliness, lack of power or safety).

A weak sense of self will warrant strong ego preservation. These strategies may lead to various addictions, (even to social media!) defensiveness, narcissism, or relational codependency.

Moving away from established diagnoses, I strive to offer a compassionate and adapted approach to patients who suffer from what is currently labeled as « personality disorders »: narcissism and codependency and seek to reframe these as psychological adaptations to the modern western world characterized by the absence of strong social, spiritual and familial structures.
